What Am I doing?

This week ‘whooshed’ by like Speed Racer in the Mach 5! We were also extremely busy doing lots of “stuff”, but I can’t really remember what it was. I think there was some rain, and I raked a few (thousand) leaves.

I wish they would just leaf my yard!

One of the highlights was finding out we’re having a God Son in the coming months! WOOHOO! After two daughters, our friends were SUPER excited to find out they were having a boy. It was pretty cool, because I went with them to pick up balloons, and since they didn’t know the gender yet, they handed the party store clerk 5 pink balloons and 5 blue balloons and the envelope with the gender in it. We told them to fill the box (we had brought in a big box) with the appropriate color, and we’d be back in a few. So the first time our friends found out the gender of their child was the same time as everyone else at their “gender reveal party.” They opened the box in front of everyone and blue balloons flew out.

And to top that, our son took his first steps this week!!! He took about 10 steps toward his grandma as she was playing with him in the living room. We knew this was coming soon, but he just totally went for it. No 2 or 3 steps, that’s lame. He took 10 flippin’ steps! We’re super excited for him to keep learning, but mama is a bit anxious about chasing down a running baby (Yes, he’s still a baby, only 11 months old! :) )

  1. Congrats on your son taking 10 steps! Also, as far as leaves go -> I bagged up THIRTY-ONE large black trash bags full of leaves and took them to our city’s compost site. I finished it up a few weeks ago (there could have been snow on the ground weeks ago!). It was a lot of work but the yard looks great. I also am very jealous of your privacy fence…I want to add one but I’m not sure I will be able to justify it for at least a few years.
