What Am I doing?
This week was pretty SUPER AWESOME! We attended two Christmas parties with white elephant gift exchanges, and came away with some cool gifts. And my wife, who is self-proclaimed hilarious, brought a black elephant to our first exchange (HAH! GET IT?! Because it’s a white elephant gift exchange and she brought….oh, nevermind). Well, she was one of the first ones to pick a gift and took HER OWN GIFT, and held on to it until the very end. So, I don’t really know that rules, but I’m pretty sure she was supposed to take someone else’s gift. Welp, either way, now there’s a black elephant on our shelf.
The second partay was at our place, and we asked people to bring an inexpensive gift that others would enjoy. There were some epic gifts going around, including a mini-pool table with real ceramic balls and everything. Michelle ended up with some hand soap called “fresh sparkling snow”, and I got a Magic starter deck (did I mention I’m a N.E.R.D.!?). I’ve never played before, but am excited to learn. Michelle couldn’t care less, and was hoping that someone would steal it, haha! We had great food, good drinks and better company. I would call it a success!
We ended the week with a family date night to the Olive Garden. I ate about two dinners worth of breadsticks and salad, and only had room for about four bites of food. We also gave our son some lemon, which he LOVED. We also went to Wight’s Nursery and checked out the awesome decorations and ornaments. Nolan LOVED all the lights and was referring all of the stuffed reindeer and bears as “Nehneh”, which is also what he calls our dog. A fun way to end the weekend

Ok, seriously, I need to sign up for some sort of carnival submission service, otherwise I’m going to need to re-name this segment!

Thanks for the include. I won a gift card at my company’s holiday potluck raffle, I was secretly glad we didn’t do a white elephant because I have no room for any more “stuff” in our condo.

Oh, they will!!
So I’m guessing that she really didn’t want to give up her elephant at the gift swap hence it now sitting on a shelf in your home lol. We are doing a gag gift exchange but only with $10 worth of something. I’m thinking maybe just giving gift cards for gas wrapped in a gag type box as I hate to spend money on something that no one will use even if it is for a laugh. Happy Holidays Mate! Mr.CBB

Gift cards are great, and wrapping them in used socks would be awesome…
LOL. Why in the world would she bring it as a gift if she just wanted it for herself? haha. Shouldn’t she have just bought it for herself and then brought another gift for the party?
Hmm…although…if she were to have done that then you’d of had to spend some extra money since you bought 2 gifts. Maybe she’s more brilliant than I’m giving her credit for…
