What Am I doing?
This week has been a complete blast. On the blog front, traffic has been steadily increasing and I got to write one of my favorite posts ever, Churning Credit Cards For Travel and Hotel Rewards. It was a monster, 2,400 word post talking about how I am collecting hundreds of thousands of credit card rewards points this year, which I’m pretty stoked about. I’ve already got some others who are joining me in my travel hacking ventures, and I’m excited to see how they use their rewards!
I also did something this week that I’ve never done. I went snowshoeing and climbed a flippin’ mountain! It was absolutely epic! It was part of our new Christmas tradition to draw names and buy an “experience” gift for that person. I took my brother-in-law out to a sweet hiking trail, and we snow shoed up almost 2,000ft. in elevation to a lake. The most striking thing about the entire trip was the fact that when there weren’t people around, it was absolutely SILENT! I’d definitely do it again, but next time I want to bring a sled and go down the most epic hills of all time. Good thing I have life insurance!
How was YOUR week?

Welcome
Thanks for the mention on both ends. I really enjoyed reading your 2,400 word monster. Is that the biggest so far?
Eddie recently posted..Finance Fox Weekend Recap – RIM Revisting Winning Ways!
It is the biggest. The Budget Friday posts are in second place, but usually only about 1600 words.
I loved all 2400 words and can’ wait to share my churning scores. Thanks for the mention.

Thanks for the mention! I really appreciate it. I haven’t seen snow in a number of years now. I do miss how it looks but don’t miss driving in it or having to go dig my car out!

I would hate going a year without seeing snow. But we don’t get it very bad over here, so I guess it’s not an annoyance as it would be for those who have it around for months at a time.
Thanks for the mention mate, good read the 2400 word beast, almost as bad as me lol. Happy Christmas mate!!! again… lol

Definitely worth it. Was only $20 for the shoes, $8 for the poles as an REI member (and I think membership is a cheap, one-time fee).
