Weekly Wrap-Up, Mentions and Good Reads #42

Click here to vote if you think I’m sort of helpful occasionally

As a super financial nerd, I’m going to this thing called the Financial Blogger Conference (AKA #FinCon13) in a month. I get to speak to a drunk crowd of financial nerds at a bar and accuse them all of being liars at FinCon Ignite! There’s also a ton of other amazing (much more helpful) speakers over 4 days that I get to enjoy, and hope to learn a ton and meet some blogger friends in real life. There’s also this awards show called the “Plutus Awards“.

I have thrown my hat in the ring under “Best New Blog”, and if you think I have ever posted anything worthwhile, feel free to vote for me by clicking HERE. I truly thank anyone who reads this little ol’ bloggy here, you are the reason I keep on writing about how much I FREAKING LOVE BUDGETS!!!

What Am I doing?

The past few weeks have honestly been a blur (in a bad way). I have two grandparents (on different sides of the family) who both found out they have extremely aggressive cancer within a week of each other, and I ended up flying down to visit one of them, and am planning a trip to see the other soon. That has put a damper on most things, so I can’t really even remember much of what we have been up to.

I mowed the lawn. I blogged a few times. I think I went to work a few times too. That’s about it.

But on the bright side, Michelle and I are finally finishing up a project we started 6 months ago. Woo! We’ll have a follow-up post on that soon enough. Also, I bought a URL that I’m going to have some fun with. I’ll post it up here as soon as I have some content up. Some of you might appreciate it :)

How was YOUR week?

There are other, very cool blogs who have been generous enough to mention iHeartBudgets on their sites over the past few weeks.  Anyone else who loves me as much as these people do, feel free to mention me as well to join the elite list below!

Mom and Dad Money, Money And Potatoes, Mo’ Money Mo’ Houses, and Stacking Benjamins

I also got featured in a short interview on AOL Daily Finance. Good stuff.

Woohoo! Thanks for sharing my junk!

  7. So sorry to hear about your grandparents. They’re in our thoughts and prayers. I just heard of a book called “You’ll get thru this”. You might want to check it out. Our week has been spent surviving the Colorado floods. Wow – you NEVER want to drive thru a flash flood – avoid it anyway you can should you ever encounter one.
