How To Travel For (Mostly) Free: Nashville On Credit Card Rewards

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another episode of How To Travel For Free! Today's episode will be detailing our recent trip to Nashville. I'm not exactly sure how we ended up deciding on going on this trip, but I do know that my wife watches the show Nashville, and that's what prompted the conversation. Now, before you think it's ridiculous to go on a vacation based on a TV show, MAYBE WATCH IT SOMETIME AND JUDGE FOR YOURSELF! Yes, I watch the show too, and yes….I'm on team Deacon (almost bought the Team Deacon shirt!). But seriously, when we started telling people about our trip … [Read more...]

Broken Doesn’t Mean Broken

Broken Doesn’t Mean Broken

Having been in the business of frugal for quite a while now, I think I take a few things for granted. There are habits that I've built over the years that I don't think twice about. Some are good, some are definitely bad (monetarily speaking). The bad ones I continue to work on month after month (food budget, miscellaneous expenses). The good ones seem to go on cruise control, but they are really they key to building a frugal lifestyle. One of those habits is looking at the world a little differently than most. Where others see broken, I see value. That Time With The Fridge I've told … [Read more...]

What Super Bowl 49 Should Teach You About Money

What Super Bowl 49 Should Teach You About Money

If you didn't know, I'm a Seattle native. I've lived in the area my whole life. And let's be honest, sports have mostly sucked around here. We had the great Mariners run of '95. I think the Sonics won some junk before I was born. And the Seahawks lost a Super Bowl a while back. But the last 2 years have been a bit crazy. The Seahawks have finally got this town going again and have put us back on nation's map as a sports town. Sure, most people hate us because we're arrogant or something, but it's been a fun run to be in back to back Super Bowls. But man that last play … [Read more...]

Life Updates

Hey everyone. Man, what a summer it's been, eh? (no, I'm not Canadian). I have been absent lately, and I apologize for that. There's been some major life changes and also, it's been sunny out in the Seattle area, which is an absolute rarity, so I have found it hard to sit inside and type away at a screen instead of enjoying playing baseball in the backyard with my son and crawling around in the grass with my baby girl. We have also been having fun adventures at "Gammies cabin" in a warmer part of the state, and have basically been enjoying every second we can milk out of this beautiful … [Read more...]
