What’s Your Camping Style?

The sun came out recently here in the Seattle area, and it actually brought along its buddy, “warmth“, which is rare. It got me thinking about all the summer activities that are inevitably coming up. Yard work, to do lists, yard work and yard work came to mind. But before I slumped over in depression, I also thought about a fun yearly tradition we have; CAMPING! Once a year, we hit the open road, drive east, stop by Wal-Mart to stock up (THE HORROR!!!), and setup at our fun little campground. Now, I consider our camping style frugal, but let’s see where it lands in terms of the totals costs of different styles. The following post is from a friend as I trudge through the last week of tax season. I’m on commission. I pretty much have been my entire life. When I was in college I did phone surveys—the more I did an hour the more I got paid. I took a few summers to sell Pest Control—knocking doors wasn’t a lot of fun, but it paid off. I’ve done mortgages, cell phones, and even phone sales. It’s easy to say a majority of my life I’ve been on commission.
